There are several activities available to visitors to the South Shropshire area and guests at Mynd House. Walking, Cycling, Gliding and Paragliding are just to name a few of the exciting and challenging activities on offer in the area. More leisurely pursuits are also available, the Long mynd range and Church Stretton valley has some important and interesting Geology. There are many views and places of interest providing execellent subject for painting.

Whatever activity brings you to the area, whether an outdoor pursuit or for just leisure, if you do arrive by train or other public transport we are happy to arrange to collect you when you arrive in Church Stretton. Please let us know when and where you plan to arrive when booking or as early as possible.
Mynd House Monster ChallengeMynd House Monster Challenge
The Monster Challenge walk is deliberately designed to be quite punishing. It also takes in some of the most spectacular scenery in the Shropshire Hills. It is possible to do in a day with a significant feeling of achievement at the end. These hills may look friendly, but they can be anything but in poor weather. Take waterproofs, plenty of food and water and wear a good pair of boots. Can you rise to the challenge of the Mynd House Monster?

There are numerous walks accessed directly from our door and leading up onto the the Long Mynd or over the other Stretton Hills. An excellent selection of maps, routes and guides are available for guests to borrow. Packed Lunches and Flask Top-Up service is also provided. Guided walks can be arranged.
 
CyclingCycling
Mynd House is ideally situated as a base for Cycling holidays, and whether cycling for leisure or taking part in more strenuous Mountain Biking there are plenty of routes available for all.
 
Box Making Courses with Andrew CrawfordBox Making Courses with Andrew Crawford
Andrew is an internationally renowned craftsman and teacher and is the author of 3 popular books on box making. Situated on the Acton Scott estate [the location for the recent popular BBC2 series "Victorian Farm" and midway between Wenlock Edge and the Long Mynd, the fine boxes workshop is a spacious and well equipped barn conversion.
 
PaintingPainting
The South Shropshire area offers some exciting and stunning scenery as subjects for painting. At Mynd House we can offer an excellent combination of Painting courses with local expert tuition and quality 4 star accommodation.

Mynd House is located close to Middle Farm Pool, set in the Beautiful Longmynd Hills
 
Golf
Mynd House is centrally located for access to many local Golf courses. Church Stretton, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Telford, Shrewsbury, Leominster or Hereford. We would be very happy to arrange course bookings for you.
 
Events
We are planning several events throughout the coming year, painting holidays, digital photography courses, etc. See the events page for a list of currently scheduled events. If you wish to arrange a special event at other times please telephone us to discuss your requirements.
