Ben Fogle hosts the series which 8 families compete against one another in a series of challenges from mucking out the pigs to milking the cattle. Starts Spring 2010 on BBC 2. A Victorian Christmas (Return of the Victorian Farm Lion TV Crew) - June 2009
Due to the popularity of the Victorian Farm series shown in January/February earlier this year on BBC2, Lion TV have returned to film a smaller series of 3 programmes set around Christmas during the Victorian times. The programmes are to be shown leading up to Christmas this year starting on 11th December 9:00 on BBC2. It has been such a pleasure for us to have the TV crew back to stay with us again and we have ourselves been involved in a couple of the scenes filmed up at Acton Scott working farm museum. We have a copy of the book - Victorian Farm - which accompanied the first series and an album of some photos taken during filming and of some of the crew here at Mynd House.

Victorian Farm - BBC2 Lion Tv Production
Over the spring/summer period of 2008 we hosted the film crew of the BBC 2 series " Victorian Farm". Based at Acton Scott, 3 historians/archaeologists (Alex Langlands, Peter Ginn and Ruth Goodman) have been recreating life on a Victorian Farm spending a year using only tools and techniques from the Victorian Period. The film crew, from Lion Television, stayed with us once a month to catch up with the historians up at Acton Scott. The first programme was aired on BBC2 on 9th January 2009. A gallery of photos taken throughout the year can be seen at http://www.alexlanglands.com/gallery.asp. You will find the "Victorian Farm" book based on the series in our lounge that you can read at your leisure along with photographs taken during filming and at Mynd House. In the photo on the right are: Felicia Rubin (Co-Ordinator), Chris Vile (Photographer), Stuart Elliot (Producer & Director), David Upshal (Executive Producer), Naomi Benson and Clare.
 Green Tourism Business Scheme
We have recently been awarded Silver level with the GBTS, demonstrating our commitment to Green Tourism - in reduction of our energy consumption and waste, use of local produce and support of local businesses and provision of maps and guide books, for walking and cycling, to encourage guests to make the most of nature and all that the Shropshire Hills have to offer.

Mynd House Monster Challenge
We have developed, with assistance from Shropshire Tourism, a Challenge walk from Mynd House of around 20 miles - a circular walk encompassing most of the Stretton Hills and surrounding landscape. If you don't feel up to the full challenge we also have a couple of short cuts resulting in the Mini-Monster challenge at approx 13 miles.
